I experience oneness through another's eyes. I experience oneness when being really present with another human being. I see the other’s being through my own when looking into someones eyes. Being present to the feeling of love that is shared between us.
I experience oneness in nature. Perhaps looking at a vast and open view of the ocean or rolling hills. When everything is still and quiet. Maybe there’s a gentle breeze. Nature supports itself in the direction it’s already going and it’s all connected. Nature includes me and you. I experience oneness when I get lost in the view of nature. I am so in awe of the beauty around me that for a moment I forget I exist. I blend in and become one with the beauty of my surroundings.
I experience oneness when playing music or making art. Getting lost in the moment. Feeling creative energy and inspiration flowing through me. We are vessels that translate the beauty, the intangible unknowingness of existence. For a moment, inspiration drops in. If we are present when it comes then we can act as a translator. We become one with it and it can be known. If we are not present to it then it is lost but not lost forever.
I experience oneness through meditation. It’s that warm feeling that sometimes shows up while I meditate. It’s a grounded and peaceful feeling when my anxious and swirling thoughts subside. It’s the quiet in-between the thoughts. I feel as if everything will be okay. That I am supported. I am a part of the intricate web of life. The universe is supporting me and you. We are all being supported whether we are present to it or not.
I experience oneness through exercise. While surfing: being fully accepting to the complete unknown of each wave. Being one with my environment: the ocean. I experience oneness when I feel fully connected with my breath and movement in yoga. When I am present to my whole body and it’s strength. When I feel as light as a feather and as strong as an elephant simultaneously. I experience oneness in large yoga classes (when they used to be in person) when everyone seems to be breathing together.
I experience oneness while teaching yoga. When I feel fully present to my purpose: to guide people into their hearts, minds, bodies, and souls. A calm and grounded feeling sets in and takes over. I am fully in flow (a similar feeling to creating art and music). Thinking ceases, everything (time and space) starts blending and I am just being. Allowing wisdom and insight flow through me.
How do you experience oneness? I am curious to know!
